Willie R. Smith

December 4, 1939 – February 11, 2023

Willie R. Smith, 83, of North Zulch passed away Saturday, February 11. Funeral Services are set for 11 AM Thursday, February 16 at Iola Worship Center. Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time also on Thursday at the Worship Center. Rev Gary Dawkins will officiate and burial will follow in the Willowhole Cemetery.

Born December 4, 1939, in Big Sandy, Texas she was the daughter of Percy Russell and Ruth Ima Garner. Willie loved Christian music, her Bible, sewing, and working in her flower garden.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Paul Smith; her parents, Percy and Ruth; step-father William Emery Hobbs; brother, Dewitt Garner;  two sisters, Lillie Ruth McFatridge and Addie Reville; and a son-in-law, David Lee Douglas.

Willie leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son, Rusty Smith; two daughters, Paula Ruth Douglas and Gayla Dianne Mott; a son-in-law, Lester Mott; a brother, Buster Garner; two sisters, Dorothy Nixon, and Nettie Brown; eight grandchildren; Amanda Marie, David and wife Misti, Brandi, Kimberli, Amanda Gale, Callie and Husband Ryan, Dalton; eight beloved great-grandchildren; Maci and Husband Dillan, Katie, Caleb, Caden, Cacee, Harli, Reed, Kaisen; three precious great-great grandchildren Kennadi, Connor and Cody.
