Another Angel has gotten her wings. Willie Ray Simmons McMillan (Granny) received her wings on September 11, 2025, at 2:45 PM in Bryan, Texas. Willie was born in a tent in Milam County to Louise Pevehouse and Cora Bell Sills on February 20, 1931. Willie went to Franklin School, where she met Virgil Utah Simons and they married on March 12, 1947. After Virgil and Willie Got married they moved to Matagorda, Texas then to Alvin, Texas, where she worked for Alvin ISD in the cafeteria. In 1981, they bought some land in Somerville, Texas.  Willie became a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Willie cleaned the church and she was a Sunday School Teacher.  After Virgil passed, she moved back to Alvin and returned to Alvin ISD. Sometime after, she moved back to Somerville to rejoin her church.

Willie Ray Simons McMillan is preceded in death by parents, Louise Pevehouse and Cora Bell Sills, Virgil Simons, Grover McMillan, Bonnie Gail Simons, Bobby Dale Simons and granddaughters,  Nicky, Ashley, Elizabeth, and grandsons Conner and Jonathan.

Willie Ray Simons McMillan is survived by her Family that she loved very much daughter Debbie Faye and Wendall Showers and Virgil Ray Simons and Cindy Simons. Grandchildren Lisa, Leon, Terrie, Bobby, Utah, Mandy, Buddy, Melinda, Amy, Virgil, Julia and Great-grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews. (Granny) Willie Ray, you will be missed greatly.
