Thomas “Tommy” D. Cook, 79, of College Station passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019. Funeral Services are set for 10AM Monday, October 14 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Martins Prairie Cemetery in Carlos, TX. Born September 10, 1940 in Iola, TX he was the son of Virgil Spencer and Merle (Byers) Cook. Tommy enjoyed caring for his goats, chickens, cats and his favorite dog Shooter. Tommy as most of his friends called him was a kind and generous man. Tommy was in the Army during the Vietnam War and flew helicopters as he was ranked a warrant officer II. Nothing made him happier than flying. He was a pilot for Texas International, now Continental Airlines for 10 years. Tommy hated the idea of retiring from flying, but eventually had to for medical reasons. He has missed the love of his life since her passing 3 years ago but now we know he is happy to be with her again.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah Cook; and two sisters, Sue Altimore, and Jean Weaver.
Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memories, one son, Douglas Cook and wife Jackie; one daughter, Dawn Cook and husband Brian Hendrick; a brother, Johnny Cook and wife Elsa Lynn; he also leaves six grandchildren, Kyle, Rachel, Kiersten, Lindsey, Nick, and Kaitlynn; and five great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Liam, Maddox, Blakley, and Mallory.
