Sylvia Yvette McDaniel Sparks entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, September 14. A Celebration of Life will be held 12PM on Saturday, October 12 in The Allen Chapel AME Church where Pastor Sean Nickelberry will officiate.
Sylvia Sparks was born October 11, 1959, in Bryan, Texas to Louise McDaniel-Johnson and Leon Foster Sr. Sylvia was the second oldest of nine. She graduated from Bryan High School in Bryan, Texas in 1978. Sylvia met Willie Sparks Sr. in 1979 and they tied the knot on April 26, 1980.
Sylvia is a mother to two sons, Lindon McDaniel and Willie Sparks Jr. Sylvia is known for her famous enchiladas, fried chicken, strawberry cake, and the game “Tik-Tag” she played with her grandkids, nieces, and nephews. She also had a hug that was filled with nothing but love. Sylvia always enjoyed helping others, and she dreamed of becoming a nurse, but God had other plans for her, and she became a CAN. Sylvia enjoyed going over to her sister Marshella’s house to watch her husband and three sisters play cards and dominos together.
Most importantly, she loved spending quality time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louise Johnson and Leon Foster Sr., and her sister, Sharron (Shay-Baby) Bailey.
Sylvia leaves her precious memories with her husband Willie Sparks Sr.; two sons, Lindon McDaniel and Willie Sparks Jr.; sisters, Jacqueline McDaniel, Marshella McDaniel, and Vivian Vanburn; brother, Leon Foster Jr., Calvin Johnson, Lynn Johnson, Shaun Johnson, and Alonzo Johnson, and numerous other grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
