Swepson Armour Obituary

Born prematurely July 8th, 1930 at home in Many, Louisiana. He survived due to Doctor Swepson Freeman, hence his name. He excelled in school and loved to play basketball. Swepson served in the US Air Force as a flight mechanic. He retired from Eastern Airlines after 30 years. But as my Aunt Carolyn put it, “He was a quiet man who could light up with a smile and laughter. He could tackle and fix anything from vehicles to houses & furniture. In him was an encyclopedia of knowledge rivaled by few.” That was Swepson to a tee. He helped a lot of people and his churches and did it with a humble spirit.

His love for The Lord came first then his love for Georgia, the love of his life. They loved each other through childhood and 73 years of marriage. He left us many examples of what love should look like. He never put himself first.

Swepson was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Maxey Armour; parents Robert & Ola Armour; brothers Tim & Harold, sister Mildred & brother-in-law George Maxey.

He leaves behind 3 children; Judy Carney, Kathy Adams, and David Armour; son-in-law David Adams; 3 grandchildren: Chantel Wilson, Marshall Adams and Aspen Colson; 2 grandsons- in -law Gabe Wilson and Ed Colson; 5 great-grandchildren: Alex Wilson, Madeline Wilson, Creed Adams, Caleb Adams, & Aurora Colson; sister Alma Morris and  Sister -in-law Carolyn Maxey.

Swepson will be greatly missed by family and friends.
