Sonja Nieto, 44, of Bryan, TX passed away Sunday March 1, 2026. A Funeral Service is set for 5 PM Friday, March 13, 2026, in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory in Bryan, Texas.

Born September 10, 1981 in Bryan, Texas, she was the daughter of Rafael Nieto and Sylvia Ybarra.  Sonja was a creative soul who loved her family deeply. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting alongside her mother and expressing her creativity through designing clothing and adding a little sparkle to everything she could. You could always catch her bedazzling something! She had a love for baking—always eager to try something new—and she also appreciated a good nap whenever she could get one. Above all, Sonja cherished being surrounded by her family. She had a special place in her heart for the children in her family and never hesitated to step in and babysit whenever she was asked. Her warmth, creativity, and love for those around her will always be remembered.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Sylvia; her precious daughter, Abcde Mie Luv McCoy; and numerous other family members.

Sonja leaves behind to cherish her memories,  two brothers,  Rafael Nieto III and Corey Allen Michael Nieto; and two sisters, Rosanna Jimenez and husband, Gabriel Ortiz, and Amber Nieto and husband, Lawrence Schoeneman; as well as many other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
