Sharon Elizabeth Boston
9/28/42-10/15/21
Sharon Elizabeth Boston was born on September 28, 1942, in Pueblo, Colorado. Raised in McLean, Texas mainly by her Czechoslovakian grandparents, she overcame many obstacles to go to Texas Christian University where she graduated with a nursing degree with honors in 1961. She completed her Ph.D. in Health Education at Texas A&M University in 1992. She was the leader of the Brazos Valley Multiple Sclerosis support group continuously beginning in 1985 until weeks before her death; the former president of the League of Women Voters, and an active and beloved member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brazos Valley.
On her 79th birthday, she was diagnosed with end-stage ovarian cancer, and in the 18 days before she left us she was able to have both daughters by her side the entire time.
She was courageous, strong, positive, funny and most of all a light of joy for everyone up until her final hours.
She is survived by her eldest daughter, Erika Sanchez, her husband Angel Sanchez, their children Parker, Truman, Maverick, and Kirk; her youngest daughter Jessica Kutner, her children Atticus and Emerson; her sister Carol Jean Boyce, 78, her family; and her brother Thomas Mark Boston, 80.
Sharon loved swimming, sunshine, vanilla ice cream, bridge, reading, Amaretto, Godiva chocolates and had a particular fondness of dogs.
Her goal in life was to leave the world a better place and for all who knew her, this was clearly accomplished several times over.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Methodist located at 4201 Texas 6 Frontage Road, College Station, Texas on November 6, 2021, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, Sharon requested donations be made to the building fund at her church, UUCBV at https://www.brazos-uu.org/donate-here
