September 30, 1942 – April 10, 2023

Roy Veracruz, 80, of Bryan passed away Monday, April 10, 2023. Funeral Services are set for 11AM Tuesday, April 18 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Father Victor Mayorga will officiate and burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8PM Monday, April 17 with a 6PM Rosary in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home. 

Born September 30, 1942, in Rosebud, Texas he was the son of Benjamin and Pauline (Coronado) Veracruz. He enjoyed a good game of football especially the Redskins. Roy loved his dog and liked to tinker with his old car. Watching his favorite game show Family Feud or old westerns on TV were among his favorite thing to do. Roy served as a Deputy Constable for Brazos County Pct 4 for over 15 years. After retiring from Brazos County Roy wasn’t one to sit around. He soon joined the staff at St Joseph Hospital in the security department. After 15 more years of public service, he retired once and for all from St Joseph Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Pauline; two brothers, Salvador Veracruz, and Edward Veracruz; as well as four sisters, Helen Lopez, Mary Veracruz, Pauline Veracruz, and Juanita Veracruz.

Roy leaves behind to cherish his memories, a close friend who was like a son, Manuel Aguilar; two brothers, Benjamin Veracruz, and Calistro Veracruz and his wife Dominga;  he also leaves two sisters, Josie Figueroa, and Del Rodriguez; along with numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
