Roberto Rodríguez Vega, de 75 años, residente de Bryan, Texas, falleció el lunes 6 de octubre de 2025, rodeado de sus seres queridos. El velorio y la vigilia están programados para las 5PM en el Stone River Event Center el día Jueves 9 de octubre del 2025 con un Rosario empezando a la 6PM. La misa está programada para las 2PM en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Teresa el día Viernes 10 de octubre, seguido el entierro en el panteón Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

 

Nació el 12 de julio de 1950, en Soledad de Las Flores, S.L.P., México. Fue hijo de Audon y María del Carmen Vega. Tuvieron nueve hijos: Genoveva, Silvestre, Fortunata, Porfirio, Lázaro, María, Roberto, Cristina y Lorenzo. Y muchos más hermanos y hermanas que Dios llamó al cielo para el eterno descanso. Roberto fue un hombre muy trabajador. Comenzó su juventud trabajando en una granja avícola y trabajó durante años seguidos en diferentes lugares, como Luby 's, en la Alenco, Sanderson Farms y, finalmente, Texas A & M AgriLife, hasta su jubilación. Era profundamente devoto a su fe y miembro del Movimiento Familiar Cristiano Católico, donde profesaba la palabra de Dios y ayudaba a matrimonios a navegar su camino a través de ella. Uno de sus pasatiempos favoritos era viajar, especialmente a su pequeño ranchito, llamado Morrillos, en Ciudad Fernández, S.L.P., México. Le apasionaba la horticultura y siempre cuidaba de sus numerosas plantas y siempre plantaba muchas más. Una vez que una planta estaba lista para ser cosechada, disfrutaba de lo que cuidaba incansablemente, como por ejemplo los nopales, les quitaba las espinas, los cortaba y los asaba para poder disfrutar deliciosamente. Sin embargo, su orgullo y alegría era pasar tanto tiempo como pudiera con su familia y amigos. La mejor parte era cuando toda su familia se reunía para comer carne asada y cuando empezaba el karaoke sabías que se pondría bueno. Siempre lo encontrabas cantando la canción, Cielo Azul, Cielo Nublado y numerosas canciones de los Terribles del Norte, los Tigres del Norte, los
 

Caminantes y muchos más. Siempre que tenía la oportunidad, aprovechaba el momento para contar un chiste. Especialmente cuando se trataba de sus nietos. Le preguntábamos a nuestro abuelito, "¿Abuelito podemos mirar la televisión mientras comemos?". Siempre respondía diciendo, "Pues ahí está, ya la estás mirando". Cuando la pantalla estaba apagada. O cuando decíamos, "Abuelito no me gustan los frijoles". Él decía, "Si no te gustan los frijoles, ve a escarbar un hoyo de hormigas afuera". Obviamente ahora nos gustan los frijoles. Había incontables momentos en los que siempre tenía algo gracioso que decir, pero así era él. Sobre todo, amaba vivir una vida llena de risas, bondad y pureza en su corazón.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Audón y María del Carmen Vega; una hermana, Fortunata Rodríguez; y tres hermanos: Silvestre, Porfirio y Lázaro Rodríguez. Su recuerdo sigue vivo en nuestros corazones cada día y que alcancen la luz perpetua.

Roberto deja atrás para atesorar sus recuerdos, su amada esposa, María Sánchez De Rodríguez, casados durante 53 años. 6 hijas y 1 hijo; Olga Lydia Rodríguez Sánchez y su esposo, Cerapio; María Maricela Rodríguez Sánchez y su esposo Oscar; Faustina Araceli Herrera Rodríguez y esposo, Silvestre; Susana Fonseca Rodríguez y su esposo Marcelino; Beatriz Rodríguez Sánchez y su esposo Marlon; Heriberto Rodríguez Sánchez, y por último Rosaura Zurita Rodríguez y su esposo Jaime. Junto con 23 nietos; Julio, Eduardo, Araceli, María Julia, Luis, Fredy, Ramiro, Carlos, Zayra Raquel, Silvestre Ángel, María Ester, Juan Manuel, Martha, Josselyn, Arlette, Sofía, Zamara, Elías Heriberto, Narek Alexander, Diego Rey, Antonio Jaime, Ximena y Liliana. Y ocho bisnietos: Janela Rose, Priscilla Catalina, Jaelynn, Lisandro, Sebastián Alejandro, Benjamín Lorenzo, Eliana Mailen, Noah Alejandro y una bisnieta más en camino. Además de numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas, primos, familiares y amigos. Todos lo recordaremos con mucho cariño.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Roberto Rodriguez Vega, 75, of Bryan, TX, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 6th, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. Visitation and vigil is set for 5PM at Stone River Event Center on Thursday with a Rosary set to begin at 6PM, October 9th. A mass set for 2PM at Santa Teresa Catholic Church on Friday, October 10th with the burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Born July 12, 1950 in Soledad de Las Flores, S.L.P, Mexico, he was the son of Audon and Maria Del Carmen Vega, together they have 9 children; Genoveva, Silvestre, Fortunata, Porfirio, Lazaro, Maria, Roberto, Cristina y Lorenzo. Roberto was a hard working man, he started early years by working in a poultry farm and worked for continuous amount of years in different companies, like Luby's, Alenco, Sanderson Farms and lastly Texas A&M

AgriLife until he retired. He was deeply devoted to his faith and was a member of El Movimiento Familiar Cristiano Catolico where he would serve by following the word of God and helping matrimonies navigate their journey through the word of God. Some of his favorite hobbies included traveling, specifically to his small ranchito, called Morrillos in Ciudad Fernández,

S.L.P, Mexico. He had a passion for horticulture, and would always like to

take care of his numerous plants and would continue to plant so many more. Once a plant was ready to be harvested, he would enjoy what he would tirelessly take care of, like for example nopales, he would remove the needles, cut them up and enjoy them in a savory plate. Nonetheless, his pride and joy would be spending as much time as he could with his family and friends. The best part was when all of his family would gather together at

carne asadas and when the karaoke would start you knew it would get good. You would always find him singing the song, Cielo Azul, Cielo Nublado from Grupo Pesado and numerous songs from the Terribles del Norte, Los Tigres del Norte, Los caminantes and many more other groups. Any time he would get the chance, he would always seize the moment to tell a joke.

Especially when it came down to his grandchildren. We would ask our
 

grandpa, “Abuelito podemos mirar la televisión mientras comemos?.” He always responded by saying, “Pues alli esta, ya la estas mirando.” But

needless to say the screen was always off. Or when we would say, “Abuelito no me gustan los frijoles.” He would say, “Si no te gustan los frijoles, vez a escarbar un hoyo de hormigas afuera.” We obviously like beans now. There are countless times where he would always have something funny to say, but that was the way he was. Above all he loved living a life with laughter, kindness and purity in his heart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Audon and Maria Del Carmen Vega; one sister, Fortunata Rodriguez; and 3 brothers; Silvestre, Porfirio and Lazaro

Rodriguez. Their memory continues on living in our hearts everyday and may they reach eternal peace.

And 8 great-grandchildren, Janela Rose, Priscilla Catalina, Jaelynn, Lisandro, Sebastian Alejandro,

Benjamin Lorenzo, Eliana Mailen, Noah Alejandro and 1 more

great-granddaughter on the way. As well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. He will forever be remembered by everyone with love.
