Robert ‘Bob’ Donald Meason, 81, of College Station, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of service, love, and cherished memories.

A graveside service with Full Military Honors will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Born on March 2, 1945, in Granite, Oklahoma, Bob was the beloved son of Herman and Nell (Glidewell) Meason. He lived a life defined by strength, devotion to family, and pride in serving his country.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment, values that remained with him throughout his life. These values carried him through a lengthy and successful business career in the Airline Industry that he pursued through retirement. During this journey, he gained many beloved friends and was well respected.

Family was the center of Bob's world. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Courtney Meason and Lindsey Meason, whom he loved beyond measure. Nothing brought him greater joy than being "PaPa" to his treasured grandchildren, Cassidy Smith and James Slemp. They were a constant source of pride, happiness, and love.

Bob found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved creating beautiful surroundings outside with gardening, and relaxing on the porch with family and friends, sharing many laughs over good bourbon. For years he cherished spending time on the golf course, where he enjoyed both the game and the camaraderie it brought, a passion he learned early in life with his little brother, Larry. He also had a lifelong affection for dogs, and every one that shared his home held a special place in his heart. His loyal companions brought him comfort, friendship, and countless happy moments throughout the years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nell Meason; his brothers, Samuel George Meason, Herman Wayne Meason, and Larry Dale Meason; and his sisters, Dorothy Juanell (Meason) Thomas, Mary Shirlene Meason, Glenda JoAnne (Meason) Kramer, and Brenda Kay (Meason) Wilke.

He leaves behind a legacy of honor, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved him will forever treasure the memories they shared and find comfort in a life that was truly well lived.
