Ping Jiang Obituary

Ping Jiang, 71, a dedicated mother, wife, and businesswoman, returned home to her parents and ancestors on March 6, 2025. She was born to Dunken Jiang and Ruofan Li on November 1, 1953 in Tianjin, China. Up until her death, she served as CFO of Arbin Instruments, the company she and her husband, Chaojiong "John" Zhang, launched in 1991. Ping is survived by her husband and her four daughters: Mindy, Jane, Patricia, and Cynthia. She also leaves behind her older brother, Tongyin "Tony" Jiang, and her cousins Mei Liu and Pu Liu, with whom she grew up and considered to be like sisters.

Ping always prioritized education, a virtue instilled in her by her parents, both university professors. Despite a ten-year interruption of her education during China's Cultural Revolution, she jumped at the chance to attend university as soon as such opportunities became available again. She graduated from Nankai University in Tianjin with a Master's degree in physics. In 1985, eager for something more, she took a leap of faith and came to the United States to pursue a doctorate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She would call the U.S. "home" for the rest of her life.

A few years after moving to the U.S., Ping met John, and in 1991, they married. Ping moved to College Station, TX, to join John in raising Mindy and Jane. It was also in College Station where Ping and John would work tirelessly for over 30 years to transform their garage startup into the international technology company that Arbin Instruments is today. John spearheaded the technical innovation of his battery testing systems, but Ping was the one who diligently worked to turn his ideas into a successful, multinational enterprise. She wore many hats, from accountant and programmer to businesswoman and leader.

In 1995, Ping and John welcomed their twin daughters, Cynthia and Patricia, into the world. Leading by example, she tirelessly raised her twins to value hard work, compassion, and generosity. She encouraged her children to cultivate their talents, fearlessly explore their passions, and protect their health and happiness above all else.

In life, Ping embodied love, joy, stability, and wisdom, and these virtues live on through her children and husband, her work, and all the lives she touched. Ping will be remembered and missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

There will be a memorial service held in Ping's honor on April 13, 2025 at the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham, TX. Friends and extended family interested in attending may reach out to Ping's family for details.
