March 23, 1946 – June 27, 2020

       Ortencia Alvarez De Garcia, 74, of Bryan passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services are set for 2PM Friday, July 3 at Santa Teresa’s Catholic Church. Father Victor Mayorga will officiate and burial will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will also be Friday, July 3 from 10AM until 1PM with a Rosary Service to be recited at 11AM prior to the Church Service in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.

       Born March 23, 1946 in Mexico, she was the daughter of Octavio Alvarez and Cecilia (Malagon). Ortencia enjoyed dancing, taking walks with her family and encouraging her grandchildren. She loved her family and was known to always be happy.

       Her parents, Octovio and Cecilia as well as a sister, Maria Elena Alvarez precede her in death.

       Ortencia leaves behind to cherish her memories, three sons, Maximo DeLeon and his wife Margarita, Aaron Deleon and Lisa, Luis Garcia Jr. and Rosa; four daughters, Ortencia De Calderon and husband Juvenal, Rocio Azucena DeLeon and husband Israel, Minerva De Zarate and her husband David, Milagros Roxana DeLeon; two brothers, Ramiro Alvarez and Francisco Alvarez; two sisters, Guadalupe Alvarez, and Sofia Alvarez as well as twenty six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
