Norma Wright Soules, 75 of College Station, Texas, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully, June 4th, 2025 surrounded by her loving granddaughter, Ashley and son Donnie.

Norma was born in Loraine, Texas on February 4, 1950, to Ray and Nell Wright.  She grew up in Hermleigh, Texas.  She moved to Caldwell about 28 years ago to be with her sister, Donna after the death of her brother-in-law. She moved to College Station a few years later.

She had 2 children, Donnie Lloyd and Christie Lloyd and along with her mother Nell, they raised a grandchild Ashley Lloyd,  from the time she was 2 years old until she became an adult.

She worked as a Phlebotomist at The Med and St Joseph for about 15 years, until she got too sick to work. She made so many good friends at work and they continued to stand by her until her death.

Norma was a fighter; she wanted to try every treatment she could to help fight her cancer.  She was very independent and didn’t want any help until the last 6 months of her life.

Norma met the love of her life Pat about 2003. They loved riding motorcycles, dancing, going to Bandara, Texas and just being together.

Norma is survived by her son Donnie Lloyd, his friend Jill, her daughter Christie Lloyd, her grandchildren Ashley Hastedt, Sabrina Rollins and finance, Justin Howard and David Groves, great grandson, Jason Weichert, her sister Donna and husband, Kevin Hibbeler, several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her boyfriend, Pat  Franklin, parents Ray and Nell Wright and brother-in-law, J. E. Traweek, Jr.

A celebration of life will be held June 14, 2025 at Community Chapel in Lyons/Somerville at 3:00 P.M.

Special Thanks to Dr. Fleener and her staff at the cancer clinic and to Luminos Hospice for their care and compassion. 

Also, a great big thank you to her friends, Kathy, Nancy, Christy,  Diane, Lea Ann and Cheryl that always checked on her, sat with her, brought her food and took her out to eat.  She appreciated your friendship so much.
