Naomi Ruth McLendon, 97, of Bryan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, she was the daughter of VA and Minnie Myrtle (Covington) Lakey.  Ruth enjoyed reading and watching movies in her spare time. She was also a devout member of the Eastern Star Society for thirteen years! Her passion in life was raising her children and then later down the road, her grandchildren. She loved her family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.  

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, VA and Minnie; husband, William McLendon; her brothers, Larry and Billy; sister, Barbara; a grandson, Patrick “Pat” Lemont Barnes; and a great-grandson, Austin Dakota Yawn.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, a son, “Monty” Yawn; a daughter,  Robbie Sparks, and husband, Tom; two grandchildren, Lorrie White and husband, Cody and Annie Gonzalez and husband, Daniel;  great-grandchildren, Conner White and Gabriel Gonzalez; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
