Michael Anthony Benavidez
October 05, 1977 – August 08, 2023

Michael Anthony Benavidez, 45, of Bryan passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023. A Visitation will be held from 5PM to 8PM, Tuesday, August 15 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services are set for 10AM Wednesday, August 16, also in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.
Born October 5, 1977, in Bryan, Texas, he was the son of Juan Benavidez and Irma Castro. Michael enjoyed spending time with his children, BBQ’ing, fishing, and listening to a variety of music. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother, son, and friend who never met a stranger. Michael was a licensed HVAC technician and worked for Baggerly Air Conditioning for 15 years.  Michael spent the last five years as a Maintenance Supervisor at SSC Services for Education at Texas A&M University. Michael was baptized on January 27, 2019, at Skybreak Church after giving his life to Jesus Christ. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Irma (Jimenez) Castro, grandmother Soledad Jimenez, grandmother Alicia Benavidez and grandfather Jose Benavidez Sr, and, cousins Jeremy Rodriguez and Angela Ramos Garza.

Michael leaves behind to cherish his memories, his father, Juan (J.B.) Benavidez; fiancé, Misty Garcia; sons, Aidan Benavidez and Allen Leal, Jr.; daughters, Alicia Bella Benavidez and Alexandria Leal; brother, Johnny, and wife Amanda Benavidez; three sisters, Stephanie and husband Moses Ramirez, Jennifer and husband James Castro, and Patricia Lopez; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice Brazos Valley. The family would like to thank them for the outstanding care they provided to Michael and his family. Special thanks to his nurse Haley Davila, RN, as well as Teresa Fielder, Erica Hardy, and Janice Green.
