Mary Davis Obituary

Mary Andrea Davis, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who was fondly known as Mary Ann went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 28, 2023 in the early hours of the morning after a short, courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. A visitation will be held from 5-8PM on Friday, May 5th at Trevino-Smith Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas and the Funeral Service will be at 10AM Saturday May 6th at Connecting Point Church in College Station, Texas. Burial will follow in Bremond, Texas.

Mary Ann was born in Marlin, Texas on June 18th, 1954 to Guy and Avis (Tuttle) Davis. She attended school in Levelland, Texas and Tatum, New Mexico and graduated from Lovington High School in New Mexico in 1972. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in advertising and marketing from Texas Tech University in 1976. She loved her Red Raiders and displayed the double T everywhere. She had one daughter, Meredith Renee in 1986 who went on to marry Christopher Dieckert and gave her three grandchildren, Autumn, Jackson, and Isabella.

Mary Ann was the picture of strength and faith in Jesus, not only in her fight with cancer but in her entire life. She walked closely with the Lord all of her days and this was clearly evident to all who knew her. She was caring and giving and was always putting others before herself. She loved her family fiercely and spending time with them was her favorite thing. She also enjoyed watching and attending musicals, crafting, shopping, black coffee, good red wine and other shenanigans with her sisters. She had a love for animals and had many beloved pets in her lifetime. She was also very active in attending and serving at Connecting Point Church and she loved her bible Study group from there dearly.

Her career life included an array of places, and she was able to bring her wisdom, kindness & compassion to several different companies. These include Dillard’s in El Paso, Corpus Christi and College Station, West Webb Allbritton & Gentry Law Firm  in College Station, management at 7 Eleven in San Antonio, and most recently Cognizant Technology Solutions in College Station. In all of these places, she is remembered for her kindness and sweet smile.

She is preceded in death by her father Guy Davis, mother Avis (Tuttle) Davis, sister-in-law Karen Davis and great niece  Brynlee Barnett.

She is survived by her daughter Meredith (Renee) and husband Christopher Dieckert of Bryan, Texas with grandchildren, Autumn, Jackson, and Isabella. Her Brother Guy Davis of Austin, Texas with sons Trent and wife Michelle with children Emerson & Evan, and Greg with children Sarah and Cameron. Sister Eugenia  (Jeannie) Heard of College Station, Texas with daughter Laura and her children Kathryn and Julianne. And sister Marla with husband Tommy Barnett of Lubbock, Texas with sons Joshua and Jacob with wife Ashley and children Bailey and Beckett. As well as many other friends and loved ones.

She has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, she has won the prize of the upward call of Christ Jesus. She is hearing the Lord say, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Her request before passing was spring flowers. The family requests that those in funeral attendance wear spring colors in celebration of a life well lived.

Donations in her honor can be made to Connecting Point Church in College Station.
