Marion "Sonny" Lee Matelshak Jr.

Marion “Sonny” Lee Matelshak, 50, of Bryan passed away Monday, September 18, 2023. A Funeral Service is set for 11AM Friday, September 22 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home. A Visitation will be from 10AM until service time, also at Trevino-Smith.     

Born November 17, 1972, in Bryan, Texas, he was the son of Marion “Sonny” Lee Matelshak Sr. and Florence Elaine Buyers. Whenever he found the time, Marion Enjoyed watching sports, no matter the game. When it came to local football teams, he loved watching A&M and the Bryan Vikings. His favorite baseball team was the Philadelphia Phillies. He also loved watching more hard-core sports such as WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. And last but not least, he loved watching his Philadelphia Eagles! He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Florence; sisters, Loretta Matelshak and Charlette Ogden; grandparents, Wallace and Virgie Matelshak; and an aunt, Peggy Goodrum.

Marion leaves behind to cherish his memories, father, Marion “Sonny” Lee Matelshak Sr.; son, Ryan Matelshak; cousin, Marie Taylor and husband, Skip; as well as, numerous other family members and friends.
