Juanice was born on August 10th, 1937 in Corsicana Texas where she lived until the age of 3 when her family settled into the town of Galena Park. She made many friendships there that lasted her entire life. She graduated high school in 1955 and married her high school sweetheart JT Mills that following year. The two remained close friends up until the time of her passing. Juanice remarried in 1969 and that marriage would have her traveling all around the country and even the world. She lived in many states throughout the USA as well as The Dominican Republic and Brazil. In 1982 she settled back in Texas where the family joined First Baptist Church Spring Branch and she worked as the church secretary. She was active in the church her entire life and loved her Lord God with all her heart. She was passionate about music. She played the organ and sang in the church choir. In 1989 she married the man who was to be the love of her life, John William Maseles. They spent the next years enjoying time spent with family and taking senior tours with her beloved sister Jenell. When Bill became ill, she cared for him up until his passing. In 2005 she moved to Southern California to be near her daughter Leslie and granddaughter Cara. As much as she loved being so close to them, in 2019 she made the decision to move back to Texas. In her heart, Texas was home and it’s where she wanted to spend her final years. She lived in College Station amongst her Texas family and was visited by her California family often. In December of 2024, her granddaughter Cara moved to College Station to help with her care and she was able to be with her every day up until her passing.
Juanice was a remarkable woman who led a full and adventurous life that touched so many people who will carry her with them forever.
