Maria Viscaya Obituary

María “Dory” Viscaya, 64, of Bryan passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, surrounded by family.

Born in Caldwell to Mary and Jesus Lopez and raised in the Caldwell/ Snook area she always loved a good day outside. If you knew Dory, she always greeted you with the biggest smile and even bigger compliment! She knew how to have a good time with company and conversation. She enjoyed great tunes and dancing with all her loved ones.

She raised her three sons, Agustin, Joseph and Victor, and together they lived life to the fullest, never being far from one another. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan and adored all 12 of them and her three precious great grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her two sons Joseph and Victor Viscaya. Five sisters, Stephanie Lopez and husband Jesus; Sheila Duran and husband Rene; Felis Martinez and husband Gustavo, Rosa Lopez and Carolyn Masood. Three brothers Alfredo Lopez  and wife Mary; Jose Lopez and wife Kimberly; Jesus Lopez and wife Pamela.

She is preceded in death by her husband Agustin Alvarez Sr, son Agustin Alvarez Jr and parents Jesus and Mary Lopez.

The last few months had taken her smile, while we mourn, please take comfort in knowing she is longer in pain.

A visitation will be held at Trevino-Smith funeral home on Thursday February 6, 2025 from 5PM-8PM and Chapel services at Trevino-Smith, 11AM on Friday February 7, 2025 followed by her burial at Bryan City cemetery.
