Maria E. Salazar Obituary

Maria E. Salazar, 87, of Snook entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 2, 2025 with her loving family by her side. A Visitation is set for Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm with a Rosary at 6pm; all in the Chapel of Trevino Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services are set for 11am on Wednesday, January 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.


Born January 17, 1937, in Madisonville, Texas, she was the daughter of Lino and Ramona (Gonzales) Esparza. Maria was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and taking care of her family. She loved her family deeply and cherished every moment she spent with them.


Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Lino and Ramona; her beloved husband of thirty-six years, Senovio Salazar; two sons, Lupe and Tino Salazar; one granddaughter, Erica Martinez; and one great-granddaughter, Rena Kubichek.


She leaves behind to carry on her legacy and cherish her memories, one son, David Salazar and wife Krista; five daughters, Faustina and husband Valentine Vega, Adrianna Salazar, Marie Olivarez, Gloria and husband Terry Harvey, and, JoAnn and husband Michael Canales; a daughter-in-law, Pauline Salazar; five sisters, Lupe Olivas, Janie Reyes, Sheila Herrera, Natividad Guillen, and, Celia Martinez; twenty grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and, one great-great grandchild; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
