Lloyd K. Adams

Lloyd Keith Adams of College Station Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Lloyd was born July 26, 1932, in Humboldt County, Iowa, on the family farm. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1954, and was commissioned into the United States Army, where he trained as a pilot; he loved flying and learned to fly twenty-eight different aircraft. While stationed in Livorno, Italy, he met the love of his life, Yolanda, at a New Year’s party in Florence, Italy. They were married on November 9, 1959, in Florence, Italy. In their sixty-three years of marriage, they raised five children, traveled the world, and enjoyed spending time on their houseboat and sailboat, making many cherished friendships along the way. He was promoted to Lt Col before leaving the military to start a successful Optical business, with his wife, in Mineral Wells, Texas. They owned and operated the business for twenty-one years before moving to College Station in 2005. Lloyd will be remembered for his humor, his stories, and his love for his family and friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sherman Adams and Mary Merris Adams, his brothers, John Adams and Roger Adams, and his mother-in-law Mary Lari, brothers-in-law, Peter Lari and Bruno Lari.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Yolanda Lari Adams, his sister Marlis Adams Collins and husband Gary, of Baltimore, MD, Sister-in-law Barbara Adams of Humboldt, Iowa. His son, David Adams, and wife Allison, of Mineral Wells, sons, Paul Adams and wife Sherilyn, Marc Adams and wife Tracy, and daughters, Laura Burdick and husband Bruce, and Mary Adams, all of College Station, TX. Lloyd was also known as Papa to his twelve grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, who were the joys of his life.
