Lloyd C. Adams

Lloyd C. Adams, 90, of Corrigan, Texas, passed away peacefully Friday, May 18, 2018. Graveside Services are set for 11 AM Wednesday, May 23 at Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Pastor Buster Griggs of First Baptist Corrigan will be officiating. Following the Graveside Service, a celebration luncheon will be held at the First Baptist Church.
Born January 30, 1928 in Crocket, Texas, he was the youngest of four sons born to Marshall and Lilla Adams.
A Veteran of the United States Army, he served with the
Eleventh Airborne Division, also known as the “Angel’s Division”, which in August of 1945 was transported to Japan for the Occupation. Mr. Adams served as a Staff Sergeant on the Northern Island of Hokkaido, Japan, until September 1947.
Lloyd was a dedicated Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corrigan for over 30 years. He worked in the Energy Business for his entire career in Texas and offshore Louisiana, retiring from Pennzoil Company in 1986. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and any young person who he gave peppermints to at Church! He also enjoyed hunting and camping all over the United States. He met the love of his life, Jean Adams, in Woodsboro, Texas and they celebrated 67 years of marriage on December 23, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Duane Adams; three older brothers, Wade, Buford, and Jesse; and a brother-in-law, Cloyce Reinhardt. Mr. Adams leaves behind for all to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Jean Adams; son David Adams and his wife Kathy, Honorary son W.B. “Bill” Phillips III and his wife Cathy; five grandchildren, Chantel and Gabe Wilson, Marshall and Nicole Adams, Aspen Adams, Lauren Adams and Alicia Adams; four great-grandchildren, Alex Wilson, Maddie Wilson, Creed Casados, and Caleb Casados; a sister-in-law, Bennie Reinhardt, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
