Leslie Merle (Martin) Carmon age 70, of Bryan, Texas, passed peacefully on February 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Leslie was born on September 28, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Jack and Connie Martin.  In 1976 Leslie met and fell in love with the love of her life, Francis Edward (Eddie) Carmon and they were married on October 15, 1977 in Paris, Texas.  Leslie attended Blinn College of Nursing where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Over the next 40 years in nursing, Leslie held nursing positions at area hospitals in the operating rooms, newborn nurseries, children’s home health care, and public health vaccination clinics.

In spite of her arduous career, Leslie managed to be a devoted wife and mother, her priority being certain her “boys” were well-fed and taken care of.  Once her two boys were in school she was determined to be an active parent and was a team mom who supported her son’s sports teams by providing meals and attending games, etc.  Leslie also celebrated each holiday to the largest extent possible, especially Christmas. Her Christmas tree decorations rivaled any tree at the White House in Washington, DC.  In addition, she was a skilled at creating beautiful cross-stitch tapestries which are hanging throughout her home.  Her other hobbies included creating paper arts and crafts, playing card games with family and friends, and watching True Crime documentaries.

Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patty, her step-mother Jean, and half-brother Mike.

Leslie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Eddie, and their two sons, Russell Carmon, wife Nicole of Atlanta, Georgia, and Trey Carmon, wife Carrie and their three children, Tanner, Tenley, and Tessa of Windsor, Virginia, and step-brother Chris Augenthaler. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either your local no-kill animal shelter, the Wounded Warrior Project or the USO.
