Laura Christine Walden, 66, of Beaufort, South Carolina entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. 

Born on April 12, 1960, in Beaufort, South Carolina Laura was the daughter of Frank and Audrey Fortsch. She was a creative and outgoing woman who enjoyed painting, specifically landscape scenery. She also expressed her creativity through her writing, in which she finished 6 romance novels. She worked in foodservice for many years as a waitress. More than anything, Laura loved her family and treasured each moment spent with them.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Audrey and Frank Fortsch; her son, Christian Fortsch; and her best friend, “Ginger”.

Laura leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband, Chester Walden; her sons, Keith Bittinger and Conrad; her daughter, Kristi Walden; her sister, Kathy Fortsch; nieces Alysia and Jamie Fortsch, nephew, Justin Mcallister, brother Eric Fortsch, and nephews; B.J. and Timmy, six grandchildren, Abel, Baylie, Gavin, Kristen, Sierra, Collen, and Kyler. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
