Kenneth Larry Richie, 72 of Houston, Texas formerly of Madisonville, went into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday August 21, 2024.  A memorial service is set for August 28, 2024.

The Memorial service will be held at:

First Baptist Church

300 S Elm St, Madisonville, TX,

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 PM 
Funeral will immediately follow at 12:00 PM

Born October 24, 1951, in Madisonville, Texas, he was the son of Kenneth and Doris (Willhelm) Richie. 

Larry was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed watching football and supporting his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.  He enjoyed traveling and visiting historical locations and learning all he could about them.  He also loved spending downtime reading and studying anything historical as well as journaling about his thoughts and experiences.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Richie; maternal grandparents, Oliver and Hazel Willhelm; Paternal grandparents, Willie and Mattie Richie; and mother of his daughter, Shelly Deniece Plotts.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memories, his father Kenneth Richie and wife Ann; A daughter Larra, and husband Marcus Walker; one sister, Nancy and husband Rick Earp two brothers, Gary Richie and wife Mae; and Paul David Richie, and wife Jana; five beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Maecyn, Jaxson and Jett Hemphill, and Tyla Walker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
