Kathleen "Katy" Joan (Wagner) Talbert

Kathleen Joan “Katy” Talbert moved to her heavenly home on October 14, 2023, at the age of 93.  She was born to Lester and Hazel Wagner on July 22, 1930, in Wink, Texas.  She married Maurice D. Talbert, her husband of 74 years, on September 1, 1949.  They began their lives together in Taft, Texas, and after a few years, moved to Weslaco where they lived for 12 years before moving to Nederland in 1965, where they lived until moving to Bryan in 2020.  She taught elementary school in Nederland for many years, until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice Talbert and her four sons and their spouses: George and wife, Karen; Wesley and wife, Debby; Richard and wife, Sherry; and David and wife, Kathy.  She was the grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church in College Station.  Memorial gifts may be made to Presbyterian Children’s Home and Services, pchas.org, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org/donate.
