Jules Michael McLeod Obituary

Jules Michael McLeod, a man of extraordinary strength and boundless optimism, passed away peacefully at his home on May 21, 2026. He was 64 years old.

Born in Houston, Texas, on October 4, 1961, to Jean and Ralph McLeod, Jules grew up in Humble, Texas, enjoying family, friends, sports, and the outdoors.

He attended Texas A&M University, a decision that changed his life in more ways than one; it sparked an intense, lifelong loyalty to the 12th Man and led to him meeting the absolute love of his life, Brigitte. Jules was a proud Aggie through and through. He and Brigitte were dedicated season ticket holders for Texas A&M football games since the 1980s, enjoying decades of fall Saturdays in maroon and white. Years later, they chose to return to where their love story first began, selecting College Station as their perfect place for retirement.

Jules developed a lifelong passion for golf. He loved playing the game, watching the game, and practicing his skills, but he especially loved the opportunity golf gave to spend time with his family and friends on the course.

Just as he was dedicated to the fairway, Jules brought that same deep commitment and passion into his professional life. He began his career as a petroleum engineer, applying his technical talents to the energy sector. This foundation paved the way for a remarkable 36-year career with S&P Global within the Platts division. A versatile and trusted leader, Jules excelled in a variety of roles spanning sales, implementation, project management, and client services. He was known not just for his expertise but for his steady guidance, his problem-solving mindset, and the genuine care he brought to his teams and clients alike.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jules was a man of remarkable talent and immense generosity. Incredibly handy, he had a rare gift for craftsmanship; he could build anything anyone needed and fix anything that was broken, always offering his skills gladly to family and friends. Jules traveled to many destinations around the world, but his absolute favorite place was Hawaii, where he shared countless unforgettable trips exploring the islands with his family.

Above all else, Jules loved his role as a father. He was immensely proud of Kristen and supported her in everything she did. Jules happily attended every swim meet, piano recital, and orchestra concert through the years. He thoroughly enjoyed watching her thrive during her years at Texas A&M, celebrating with her when she earned her Aggie Ring, and watching proudly as she graduated. After graduation, her artistic passions expanded into photography and videography, and he quietly marveled at her ever-expanding artistic talent.

Whether he was relaxing on the golf course, cheering on his beloved Aggies, sharing family dinners, or simply walking his dog, Kona, Jules treasured the everyday blessings of family life. He was fiercely protective of those he held dear and boundlessly generous with his love, time, talent, and resources.

This lifelong resilience and strength were never more evident than during his brave battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare form of cancer. Throughout his illness, Jules defied the odds not just with physical fortitude, but with an unwavering positivity that continually inspired his family, friends, and medical team. Standing firmly by his side through every step of this journey was Brigitte, who served as his fiercest advocate and dedicated caretaker.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to MD Anderson Cancer Center and its outstanding care team led by Dr. Renata Ferrarotto for their relentless efforts to identify treatment options for his cancer. They also wish to recognize the deeply compassionate care provided by Hospice Brazos Valley during his final days.

He was preceded in death by Jean and Ralph McLeod, George McLeod, Henry Cowen, and John Robert Novier.

Jules is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Brigitte; his daughter, Kristen; his siblings, Russ McLeod and wife Denise, Mac McLeod and partner Dylan Cox, Marie Vukovics and husband John, and Amy Conroy and husband Bill; Sue McLeod, Joy Cowen, Miriam Novier, Dylan Novier, Ian Novier; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
