Judy (Garrison) Niehus, 85, of Bryan, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2023. A Celebration of Life (Beach/Casual Attire is encouraged) is set for 2 PM, Saturday, March 25 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home with Chaplain Pat Savage officiating. A gathering of friends prior to the service is set from 1 PM until service time Saturday, March 25 also at Trevino-Smith.
Born May 30, 1937, in Dixon, Illinois Judy was the daughter of Albert Garrison and Effie (Watts) Garrison. Judy enjoyed playing bridge, going to the beach, “good food”, and being with her grandchildren. She was always willing to laugh at herself and was a joy to be around. She was a stay-at-home mom until her kids left. Judy then worked several exciting jobs including the Texas Travel Industry, Texas A&M Athletic Club, and the BCS Chamber of Commerce before retiring to spend time with her beloved grandkids. Judy (or “DuDu” as she was known when she became a grandmother) was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Effie Garrison; her son, Scott Alan Niehus; and one sister, Marjorie Doran.
Judy leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son Joe Niehus and wife, Donna, along with her granddaughters, Katie and Karlie; her daughter, Sheri Niehus Hillis with grandsons Hayden and his wife Kayla, Riley and granddaughter, Nanci; as well as her daughter-in-law, Ellen, granddaughter Jena and husband, Farid Razavi, great-grandson Rio and great-granddaughter, Kaia. Grandson, Brent and his wife, Sarah, and great-granddaughter, Mabel. And a granddaughter, Malia. Judy also leaves behind her nephew, Mike Howard with his wife, Marsha and daughters Willa and Ellie. And niece, Nancy with her husband, Dan Phend.
