Jose De Jesus Cortes Sotelo, 70, of Bryan, Texas passed away Thursday, December 24 in Mexico. Funeral Services are set for 11AM Thursday, January 7 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan. Father Cesar Jaime Guzman Diaz will officiate and burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8PM Wednesday, January 6 with a 6PM Rosary in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.

Born November 14, 1950 in Mexico he was the son of Eutiquio and Paula (Sotelo) Cortes.  He loved working with his cattle and horses.  Jesus loved gardening and planting, corn, avocados, oranges, limes and anything else he could find. He was well known as a very giving and supportive person and was loved by his family and friends. His greatest love was his grandchildren and spending time with them. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eutiquio; his wife of 52 years Estanislada Cortez; five new born infants; and one brother.

Jesus leaves behind to cherish his memories, one son, Nicolas Jesus Cortez and Francisca Marquez; two daughters, Ofelia Lopez and Ernesto, and Maria Ancelma Cortes and Severiano Marquez; six brothers; four sisters; twelve grandchildren, one precious great-grandchild and his mother Paula.
