Johnnie Aline Graham

December 9, 1928 – September 6, 2020

Johnnie Aline Graham of College Station went to be with her Lord & Savior Sunday, September 6, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. A private graveside service was held that afternoon at Wellborn Cemetery, Wellborn, Texas officiated by Pastor Jared Ayers of Skybreak Church. She was honored with her grandsons and great grandsons as pallbearers, PJ & Dustin Graham, Charles Bates, Matthew Powell, Hunter & Caden Holleman, Prestyn & Parker Bates.

She was born to Johnny and Della Brock on December 9, 1928 in Big Hill (outside of Thornton), Limestone County, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years, Eugene O. Graham, son, Eddie Graham, sisters Wanda Coronado, LaNell Wiley and Shirley Decker, Brother Durell Brock, niece Jo Vandervoort, nephews Guy Wayne, Gary and Michael Ramsey, Nolie and Keith Wiley. She lived to be 91 years young and was the last of her generation from both large Brock and Graham families.

Johnnie leaves behind to cherish her memories daughters Brenda Brewton and husband Chester of Magnolia, Kathy Cutler and husband Chris of Whitewright, sons Paul Graham and wife Charlet, of Grapeland and Marc Graham of College Station, daughter-in-law Carolyn Graham of Channelview.

Grandchildren: June Snow and husband Phil, Darlene Holleman, P.J. Graham and wife Traci, Karli Bates and husband Charles, Jamie Mashburn and husband Jake and Brandon, Bryan and Wesley Dilli. Great Grand Children: Lauren Johnston and husband Rory, Katharine Morland, Matthew Powell, Hunter and Caden Holleman, Dustin and Addie Graham, Prestyn and Parker Bates, Cole and Reid Mashburn, and Jordan and Dylan White. Great Great Grandchildren: Austen, Rowan, Rosie and Elinor Johnston and Judson Morland. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Lifelong friends Cheryl Atkins, Mildred Grimes, Corrine Court, Linda Cash, Mathis Ottea, Michael and Rita Downing.

She moved to Houston with her family in the forties where she met the love of her life, married at the age of 16 and raised her family. Johnnie moved to College Station in 1982 to train employees of the new Foleys at Post Oak Mall which later became known as Macy’s. She transferred from Pasadena Foleys where she had worked many years in several departments. She worked her way up to the fragrance counter.

As a friend recently said, we know she is out spritzing angels in heaven with the latest and greatest perfume. She earned numerous employee awards and retired at the age of 79. She enjoyed her retirement with family, friends, and neighbors, traveling, taking care of her flowers and visiting with all who she came in contact with as she did not meet a stranger. She loved her Skybreak Church family and small group, feeding, watching and listening to the birds, sitting on her front porch enjoying nature, waving at neighbors passing by and singing her country and gospel music. She was always the life of the party with her quick wit. She had a way of making everyone feel special and welcomed and always took care of others no matter what was going on in her life. She had friends of many ages and she was young in spirit. We will cherish all of her grandma-isms and with each laugh remember we are “turning our giggle boxes over”. She went by her middle name of Aline for many years and at the age of 80 decided to change everything to her first name of Johnnie and was proud of it. She was known to many as “Ms. Johnnie”.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at a future date. We want to thank all the wonderful compassionate employees of Encompass Home Health and Hospice, Helena Patanggu, her guardian angel caregiver for all the attention and loving care. Trevino-Smith Funeral Home for their above and beyond service to our family.

In lieu of flowers, Ms. Johnnie’s favorite charity is Skybreak Church, 4010 Harvey Road, College Station, TX 77845 where donations may be made in her memory.
