Jean Marie Hicks, 68, of Garland entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 21, 2025. A Visitation is set for Monday, March 3, at 10am until service time in the Chapel of Trevino Smith Funeral Home; burial will follow at Steep Hollow Cemetery.

Born March 28, 1956, in Bryan, Texas, she was the daughter of Milton and Joyce (Peters) Bell. Jean had a passion for singing and music. In her youth, she recorded a gospel album with her mother Joyce. She was also a proud graduate of Sam Houston University, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Above all, Jean loved her family deeply and cherished every moment she spent with them.

She is preceded in death by her father Milton Bell and grandparents Douglas and Mae Delle Peters.

Jean leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving mother, Joyce Bell; her brother, Doug Bell and wife Linn; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
