James Michael Green, “Mike”, age 77, of Buffalo, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2025.  Mike was born on May 2nd, 1947 to James and Mary Green in Champaigne-Urbana, Illinois. Mike graduated from Hickman High School in 1965, he went on to study Geology at the University of Missouri and the University of Texas. 

After graduating with his BS in geology, he served as a Ltjg in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the military, Mike made his career in the oil and gas industry. 

In 1978, Mike married Martha. Mike and Martha had two children, James and Sam. 

In retirement, Mike spent his time creating leather goods, cowboy action shooting, and watching old westerns. 

Mike was predeceased by his wife Martha. He is survived by his sons James and Sam (Korey); grandchildren Mary, Jesse, Ruby; and sister Susan.

He is deeply saddened that in his death, he will become a liberal voter. Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Freeestone County 4H Archery.
