James Lloyd Easterling

James Lloyd Easterling, 66, of Bryan, TX, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Graham Chapel Church of Christ, 1016 W. 15th. St., Post, TX 79356. Attendees are welcome to visit with the Easterling family at 10:30 A.M. prior to the Memorial Service.

Born on August 5, 1956, in Abilene, TX, to Bill and Doris Easterling, he grew up in Coahoma, TX, and graduated from Angelo State University in 1979. Shortly thereafter, he started his teaching and coaching career at Post High School in Post, TX, where he would meet his wife, Amy. Together they had three children—Brice, Cole, and Kylie. He loved his family and was the best “Dat” or grandfather to his granddaughters Emilie and Sadie. He was a child of God, known for his kind, gentle spirit, and was a fierce lifelong tennis player.

James was preceded in death by his father Bill Easterling; sister Lisa Easterling; brother Ryan Buchanan; brother-in-law Ron Livingston; sister-in-law Sue Luft, and mother-in-law Jennie Cowdrey. 

James is sorely missed and is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Amy Easterling; son Brice Easterling and his wife Jennifer; son Cole Easterling and his wife Shannon; daughter Kylie Easterling; granddaughters Emilie and Sadie Easterling; mother Doris Hamilton; stepmom Sherrill Easterling; father-in-law Bobby Cowdrey; numerous friends and family; and his beloved Boxer dog Rocky.
