Jackie Bascom “J.B.” Watson Jr. passed away peacefully from complications associated with pancreatic cancer. Born on November 13, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, Texas, J.B. was the son of Jackie Bascom Watson Sr. and Annette Robinson Watson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Rex Watson, and his granddaughter Julianne Rachel Watson.

He is survived by his son, Will Watson, and wife, Krisann, along with their children: Warner, Judah, Jack, Joey, and Lucy. J.B. is also survived by his nephews Jeremy Pennington, Jason Pennington (wife Danielle), and Casey Watson (wife Katie), and by his niece Cassie Darce (husband Dusty). He leaves behind numerous other grand nieces and nephews and many other close friends and extended family.

J.B. was at home on the Texas Gulf Coast, where he spent some of his happiest years surfing and soaking in the salt and sun. Though those days passed, he carried them with him for the rest of his life, and few things brought him more joy than remembering those golden years on the water. One of his last spoken phrases was: “I want to sleep on the ocean with my friends.”

In accordance with his wishes, J.B.’s remains will be returned to the Gulf of Mexico in a private ceremony.

J.B.’s family would like to extend its sincerest thanks to Fortress Nursing and Rehabilitation and Traditions Hospice, both of College Station, for the tremendous grace, love, mercy, and care they extended to J.B. and his family during J.B.’s final days.
