Helen Francis Jones of Spencer, Indiana passed away in Navasota, Texas on January 19, 2023. Helen was born in Monroe County Indiana on December 18, 1947, to Bart Mitchner and Ruth Robertson Hamil. She attended school in Heltonville, Indiana. Helen loved running her fruit stand, talking to her customers, farming, helping family members in need, and spending time with her sisters, children, and grandkids. Helen enjoyed going on vacations, winning big at casinos, hunting for mushrooms, and even a little fishing. Helen was loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed greatly.
Helen is survived by her sisters Ruby and Bill Bates of Freedom, IN, and Shirley and husband Lloyd Christy of Spencer, IN. Helen is also survived by her children Shelen Rucker of Navasota, TX, Kaylo Jones of Russellville, AR, Conway Felton of Bloomington, IN, Eva Vagher of Mullin, TX , Delca Peel of Texas Shane Williams of Kansas as well as 14 grandkids, 13 great grandkids, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Earnest Keith Jones, her parents Bart Mitchner and Ruth Hamil, grandmother Hattie Robertson-Johnson, brother Ronnie Wyatt, and sisters Jospehine Bailey, Lula Kinser, Avy Williams, Cleta Weddle, and Patsy Smith.
Cremation and celebration of life service to be held at a later date.
