Gonzalo Garcia Sr., 78, of Bryan, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. A Visitation is set for Thursday, May 15, from 5pm to 8pm with a Rosary at 6pm, all in the Chapel of Trevino Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral is set for 11am on Friday, May 16 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
Born August 15, 1946, in Monterey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico he was the son of Acsencio Garcia Martinez and Ofelia Rodriguez Garcia. Gonzalo enjoyed watch old Western movies and especially loved films starring Antonio Aguilar. He also enjoyed playing bingo and taking care of grandchildren. Above all, Gonzalo loved his family deeply and cherished every moment he spent with them.
Gonzalo is preceded in death by his parents, Acsencio and Ofelia; his loving wife, Susana Clementina Garcia; a brother, Manuel Ramon Garcia; a sister Gloria Longoria; two daughters, Luz A. Garcia and Blanca Reyes; and one beloved grandson, Javier Solis Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, two sons, Francisco A. Garcia and Gonzalo Garcia Jr. and wife Patricia; three daughters, Patricia Medina and husband Norman, Ofelia Contreras and husband David, and, Noemi Garcia; four brothers, Jesus Garcia and wife Juanita, Rolando Garcia, Domingo Garcia, and Martin Garcia and wife Martina; four sisters, Guadalupe Gonzalez and Alecio, Dolores Carlos, Luisa Contreras, and, Lisa Sanchez and husband Leo; as well as, twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-eight great grandchildren, and two beloved great-great grandchildren.
