Gert Ording Obituary

Gert "Doc" Rudiger Ording, 82, of Bryan passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026. No formal services are planned at this time.

Born January 6, 1944, in Germany, he was the son of Gertrud Schein. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a medic, saving lives. Gert enjoyed fishing—though patience was never quite his strength. Still, he went whenever he could, and whether he caught anything or not, he always came back with a story. Gert also enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Rudy, Dolly, and Max, his beloved cats, and playing music with his friends. He was happiest when there was good company and plenty of laughs.

Gert is preceded in death by his mother, Gertrud Schein.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of thirty-two years, Jean Ording, a step-son, Randy Rippstein and wife Shanna, one daughter, Cathy Ording, cousins; Christa Niemann of Germany (Gartenstrasse 1, D37242 Bad Sooden-Allendorf), Bernd Schein of Germany (Kjeirstrasse 19-21, D 25980 Weesterland/Sylt), and Manfred Schein and his son Christian of Germany (Sandleinweg 28 a, D 96450 Coburg), and many close friends. He will be loved and remembered by all who knew him.
