Fay Jonita O’Daniel, aka Me-Maw, 85, of Marquez, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2020. As the blessed Christmas star appeared, she rose to meet her Lord and Savior. Services to celebrate her life will be held at a later date in Waxahachie, Texas.
Fay is preceded in death by her husband, Billy O’Daniel, Sons, Larry and Ricky O’Daniel, brothers, Sam, Jack, Monroe, John, Billy and Thomas Phillips; sisters, Joy, Blanch, Phobie and Grace, and son-in-law, Glen Padgett.
Fay is survived by her son, Robert O’Daniel and his wife Rondia, daughter, Debbie O’Daniel; her brother, Burlin Phillips and his wife Patricia, as well as her sister Ima Phillips Wilkerson, twelve grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Fay will be remembered as a loving woman full of passion for the things, and the people she loved. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. But she especially enjoyed making her famous spaghetti and fried potatoes. Fay didn’t miss her soap operas, something that kept her entertained when she wasn’t quilting, solving a crossword puzzle or reading an interesting book. But she never missed an opportunity to take a walk and reflect on her loving family and her blessings.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Franklin Nursing Home for their dedicated staff of nurses that took this time to love, not just Me-Maw, but the entire family. We were incredibly blessed and thankful for you.
