Ernest Wayne Hamilton

March 25, 1949 – April 12, 2022

Beloved husband, Father Grandfather and Great Grandfather

 

Ernest Wayne Hamilton who preferred to be called Wayne formerly of Caldwell, Texas passed away April 12, 2022, in College Station, Texas surrounded by the two women he loved the most his wife Linda and his daughter Patricia. A Memorial Service is set for May 21, 2022 from 1pm – 5pm in the home of Linda Hamilton at 1115 Westover St. College Station, TX. Service will begin at 3 pm with Brent Sims of Enhabit Hospice officiating.

Wayne was born in Austin, Texas to Albert W. and Betty Jo Shafer Hamilton. Wayne was a loving and intelligent person. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything. Wayne taught himself to play the Violin and Cello. His hobbies were creating artwork on wood with his scroll saw. Wayne was a member of the Numismatic Club and loved collecting coins. He enjoyed reading the books he collected over the years. Wayne loved taking care of his plants in which he started most of them from a tiny seed. Wayne was a veteran of the Vietnam war and after being discharged from the service he married the girl across the street. He has had many special friends through the years and the most recent ones are Mac and Renae, Aaron and Marta, David and Ashley of College Station, Texas; Jake and Alix of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brit of Canada. Others include Neighbors  Don and Liz, Rick and Kathy, Ralph and Dora all of College Station, Texas.

His grandparents, parents, and two brothers precede him in death.

Wayne leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Hamilton; one daughter Patricia Hamilton Ingram, and husband Mark; six grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandi, Grady, Shady, Wyatt, and Jerry; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law Ronald Woodworth and wife Brenda; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wayne’s service was entrusted to Trevino-Smith Funeral in Bryan, Texas. The family would like to thank Rowe, Dawn, and Joyce for the care given to Wayne in his last days. Wayne will be truly missed by all that knew him, with his words of wisdom, jokes, and laughter. Your loving Family and Friends.
