Elizabeth Rueda, 62, of College Station, passed away in the comfort of her home Sunday, August 13, 2023. Funeral Services are set for 11AM Saturday, August 26 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5PM-8PM Friday, August 25 with a Rosary starting at 6PM also at Trevino-Smith.
Born in Calvert, Texas via midwife, to Joaquín and Eduviges Rueda, she lived most of her life in Bryan. Elizabeth was known to many as “Chavela”. In her spare time, she loved playing bingo, loteria, going to casinos, and cooking. You could always find her surrounded by family and her grandchildren, enjoying some good ol’ Tejano music. She enjoyed working at Homewood Suites for many years up until her health declined. Chavela will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin and Eduviges; two brothers, Joe Leal and Johnny Rueda Sr.; along with two sisters, Janie Rivera, and Hilda Lopez.
Elizabeth leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 12 years, Pablo Garcia Vivanco; two sons, Lino Arenas Jr. and wife, Melissa and Roy Ramirez and wife, Yissel; three brothers, Joaquin Rueda Jr., Freddie “Psycho” Rueda and wife, Dianna, and Ruben Rueda and wife Mary Jane; a sister, Margarita Rueda, and husband Marco; four precious grandchildren, Maria Elizabeth Ramirez, Amaireni Ramirez, Marina Ramirez and Yarezti Ramirez; special friend, Liz Toliver; as well as other numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
