We are saddened to announce the death of our mother, Dolly K. Smith. She was born in El Paso to Betsy Victoria Locke and Jess Hallan Kimbrell. She lived in Los Alamos, New Mexico until she married and eventually settled in Mineola, Tx with her husband of 50 years Leo Carlie Smith (Smitty). Dolly is preceded in death by her twin sister Betty Ann (Nan ) Coleman, her brother Jesse Hallan Kimbrell and her husband Smitty. She is survived by her brother, William Lee Kimbrell, her 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Dolly was known for her love of antiques. She opened a shop which she ran for many years and amassed a large collection. Her most prized collection were her dolls, her home was full of many interesting items from her career as an antique dealer. When traveling, she not only took in the scenery but every flea market, yard sale, and antique shop along the way! Smitty was a member of the Mineola Volunteer Fire Department for many years and Dolly was an active member of the women's auxiliary for many years.
Per Dolly's wishes, there will be no funeral services, there will be a private memorial, at a later date, with her children on a mountaintop in Arkansas, one of her favorite places.
