Cynthia Ann Brown entered peacefully into her heavenly home on May 8, 2023. She was born on September 18, 1966, to Wilbert Brown Sr. and Joyce Armstrong Brown Simmons.


Cynthia graduated from George Washington Carver High School in New Orleans, LA in 1984. She pursued various career training programs, including Private Security Training of New Orleans Regional Security Institute, the Louisiana State University and Agriculture and Mechanical College where she received her EPA and Welding license.  In 1987, she completed homemaker/home health aide training at the Denver Adult Vocational and Technical Institute.  Later Cynthia was recognized as a student member of the Professional Association of Healthcare Office Managers.  Ultimately Cynthia pursued her passion for caring for and helping others by continuing her education at Southern University of New Orleans where she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work.


She was married to Ricky Jones for a brief period of time.


Cynthia was proceeded in death by her parents Wilbert Joseph Brown Sr. and Joyce Armstrong Brown Simmons, her brother Wilbert Joseph Brown, Jr., paternal grandparents William and Pearl Blossem Brown of New Orleans, LA, and her maternal grandparents Manuel and Elenora Guidry Armstrong of New Orleans, LA, sister-in-law Chikita Brown, brother-in-law Paul Wimberly, Sr., and niece Cowanda Wimberly.


She accepted Christ at an early age, she attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in New Orleans where she was baptized. Later Cynthia became interested in The Hebrew origin and throughout her learning and embracing the Hebrew doctrine she felt compelled to change her name to Bityah which is translated ‘Daughter of God’.


Cynthia’s beautiful smile, kind nature, and big personality will truly be missed. Her precious memories will forever be cherished by her remaining siblings Jeannette Wimberly, Annette Warren (Cedric, Sr.) and Raymond Michael Brown.  Also cherishing her memory are her loving aunts Mary Armstrong, Yvonne Martha Armstrong Webster and Clarice Salisbury, one uncle Dewayne Kevin Brown (Elaine), her wonderful nieces and nephews, Wilbert J. Brown, III, Cedric Warren, Jr. (Anjanette), Shantrice Arzu (Carlos, Sr.), Shantell Wimberly Anderson (Milton), Paul Wimberly, Jr. Nicole Wimberly, Jasmine Warren, Joshua Warren, Angeline Thomas, her amazing great nieces and nephews, Hayalie N. Arzu, Darion Ingrams, Carlos Arzu, Chloe E. Warren, Cedric S. Warren, Carter J. Arzu, Aailiyah T. Brown, Carsen S. Warren, Asiana Anderson, Amir K. Brown, Ariel Anderson, and Imani Anderson, lifelong friends, cousin, Tyra McClendon,  Anita Riley, Gloria Riley, Corey Riley, and a host of devoted friends and family.
