Loving husband, father, and, friend, Curtis Verne Wheeler, 76, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. No formal services are planned at this time.

Born August 7, 1948, in Beatrice, Nebraska, he was the son of William Eugene Wheeler and Elizabeth Jeanne Griffin. At a young age, Curtis and his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he spent most of his life. In his later years, he and his wife, Mary Lynn, moved to Texas. While in Texas, Curtis drove for Uber and was ranked the number one driver in the Bryan-College Station area. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Curtis will be remembered for his outgoing and loving personality and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth; and three siblings, Pam Wheeler Cole, Morris Wheeler, and, Tim Wheeler.

Curtis leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Mary Lynn Wheeler; a son, Jacob Wheeler; two daughters, Amber Wheeler Groce and Kaitlin Wheeler Weathers; four brothers, Mike, Dennis, William “Bill” Jr., and, Jim Wheeler; three sisters, Patty Wheeler Stevens, Theresa Wheeler Alexander, and, Mary Wheeler Fields; seven beloved grandchildren, Kade, Jaxton, and, Xander Groce, Easton and Elias Weathers, Olivia and Hudson Wheeler; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
