Chester Rekieta, 42, of College Station, Texas, passed away on May 7, 2025. He was born on August 31, 1982, in Bremond, Texas, to Sheri Osborn and Leonard Rekieta. Chester lived a life marked by strength, compassion, and quiet courage—a man whose presence was felt deeply by all who knew him.

A former U.S. Marine and devoted hospice nurse, Chester spent his life serving others with courage and compassion. He was someone who brought calm to crisis and humor to hard moments—always ready with a quick wit, a thoughtful word, or a warm smile.

Chester was most at home under open skies. He loved hiking, fishing, camping, and the quiet peace of nature. He often said the best conversations happened around a campfire, and anyone who sat beside him there remembers how present, funny, and wise he was.

Above all, Chester was a loving and devoted father to his daughter Isabella Rekieta and son Paxton Rekieta. He was their biggest fan, protector, and guiding light—completely devoted to their happiness and growth. He was the “crazy uncle” who made childhoods magical for Lillee, Luke, Liam, McKenzie, and Trenton. He was a deeply caring brother and brother-in-law whose loyalty and humor never wavered.

 Known by his friends as someone who could always light up the skies—quite literally—with the most dazzling fireworks displays, he brought joy and awe to every celebration."

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Rekieta; grandparents, Dolores Oden-Johnson, Stash and Lillian Rekieta and other loved ones who welcomed him home.

He is survived by his children, Isabella and Paxton Rekieta; their mother, Melanie Rekieta; his mother, Sheri Osborn; his sister, Traci Trant and husband, Jeffrey Trant; his brother, Thomas Osborn; many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will forever carry his memory.
