Charles Douglas Clifton Obituary

Charles Douglas Clifton, 55, of Madisonville, entered into Glory, Friday, May 2, 2025. Funeral Services are set for 11am, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Trevino Smith Funeral Home and Crematory of Madisonville; burial will follow at West End Cemetery. 


Born April 7, 1970, in Mt. Bound Bayou, Mississippi, he was the son of Joseph Campbell and Kathleen Clifton. Charles worked for TDC for many years and was a devoted member of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching all sports, specifically, Dallas Cowboy Football and Nascar. He enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, watching westerns, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.


Charles is preceded in death by his father, Joseph; a son, Charles Bradford and his grandparents.


He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 19 years, Angela Washington; two sons, Gregory Washington and Darwin Washington and wife, Annisa; three daughters, Montera Washington, Erica Washington, and Andrea Clifton; two brothers, Benjamin Franklin and Bennie Franklin; 16 beautiful grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. Charles will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
