Carlus Ray Dobbs Obituary
Carlus Ray Dobbs passed away peacefully in Vernon, Texas at his home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. A Graveside Service will be held at 2PM, Friday, November 21 at Hopewell Cemetery in Normangee, Texas.
He was born on September 19, 1938, in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma to June Rose Boucher (Brundige). Later they moved to Altus and Duke Oklahoma. He had a very loving and generous heart and loved animals. He especially loved spending quality time with his mother every chance he got. Whether it be helping her in the garden, or just spending the day at her house, he was always happiest by her side. He was a carpenter and owned his own business in Metairie, Louisiana for 49 years. After retiring he bought a house and moved to Hilltop Lakes to take care of his momma; he promised she would never be placed in a nursing home and he kept his promise. He was a favorite among many generations of nieces and nephews, always finding time for fishing, playing poker and telling jokes.
He is preceded in death by his mother, June; a brother, John L. Dobbs; sisters, Mary Dobbs Payne and Brenda Sue Dobbs Kaszynski Cunningham; as well as nieces, Donna Dobbs and Deborah June Patterson; and a nephew, Jimmy Dobbs.
Carlus leaves behind to cherish his memories, a brother, Albert Dobbs and wife, Sue; two sisters, Rose Ray and Nancy Elliot; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
