Betty Wyatt Martin, 84, of Normangee, went into the loving arms of the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2026. A Visitation is set for Wednesday, July 1, from 6pm to 8pm at First Methodist Church of Normangee. Funeral Services are set for 11am, July 2, also at First Methodist; burial to follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Born December 29, 1941, in Beaumont, Texas, she was the daughter of SG “Doc” and Mona Geneva “Gen” (White) Wyatt. For more than 30 years, Betty devoted her life to teaching, finding great joy in helping young people learn and grow. She loved people deeply, and nowhere was that more evident than in the care, encouragement, and lasting impact she had on her students. Betty found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching birds, welcoming each new day, and taking time to appreciate the quiet beauty of the world around her. Betty will be remembered with love and gratitude, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Mona, and, two nieces, Stacey and Elisa.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband of sixty-two years, Robert Martin; two sons, Milton Wyatt Martin and wife Erin, and, Waylan Martin; daughter-in law, Jeany Martin; two sisters, Shirley and husband Don Johnson, and, Terrie Shearer; three grandchildren, Brandon Martin and wife Jaclyn, Hannah and husband Austin Longoria, and, Gen Martin; great grandchild, Kayce Martin, and, another great-grandchild on the way.
She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
