Bambi Wynne (Meurlott) English Obituary

Bambi Wynne Byers English was welcomed home by Jesus on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in College Station, Texas, after losing a courageous battle with cancer. She was 63 years old.

A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville, Texas, on Wednesday, July 10th at 10am.

Bambi was born November 5, 1960 in Illinois to Larry Meurlott and Madonna Pierce Morris.

She was married to Graham ‘Howie’ English and is survived by five children: Tiffany (Shawn) Galendez, Skylar (Rachel) English, Leighton English, Lauren (Sam) McBeth, Carlie (Max Filippi) English. Eight grandchildren: Rhett (Payton) Burk, Julia (Josh) Ehler, John Tyler Espino, Evan English Hutcherson, Ava Galendez, Zeke McBeth, Koda Galendez and Anaera McBeth and one great grandson: Beau Burk. Bambi is also survived by siblings: Carolyn (Chris) Wourms, Robbie (Theresa) Byers, Jessica Teufel, Cathy (Mike) Liles, Heather Melson and Nickie Cunningham, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother Madonna Morris and brother-in-law John Teufel.

In the early years of Bambi’s life, she enjoyed working as a graphic designer to create newspaper ads and marketing material, where she developed a fondness for products and all things tech. In her spare time, she enjoyed jam sessions with friends, oftentimes gathered around a campfire at Lake Somerville with her acoustic Fender guitar in hand. She loved to sing, write songs, and was even known for being quite the pool shark - on one occasion having had the privilege of playing American professional pool player Jeanette Lee, she somehow managed to win. Although she was humble enough to tell you she “got lucky” it was a memory she would never forget.

Bambi’s life is impossible to sum up in a brief obituary. She was undoubtedly a woman of thoughts, ideas, and words. Typically choosing the path less traveled, her life was a testament to adventure. She never met a stranger, nor was she a stranger to walking alongside those amidst the fight of their life. She was a vivacious woman, with what seemed to be endless energy and effervescent wit, who loved Jesus and cared for hurting people.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith – 2 Timothy

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained
angels without knowing it. - Hebrews 13:2
