Archie Ray Payne Obituary

Archie Ray Payne, 85, of Midway, went into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. A Visitation is set for Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Mesquite Hill Baptist Church in Madisonville from 5pm to 7pm. A Graveside Service will be held at 3pm Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Cave Springs Cemetery in Marshall; Brother Dean Ferguson will officiate.


Archie was born June 4, 1939, in Marshall, Texas to Carlton and Frances (Walding) Payne. In his youth, Archie was a skilled carpenter who later in life enjoyed working on lawnmowers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as watching wrestling and westerns. Above all, Archie loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with them.  


He is preceded in death by his parents Carlton and Frances; one sister, Louise Alexander; and a brother, Jerry Payne.


Archie leaves behind to cherish his memories, a daughter, Rae Kubiak and husband Donald; two sons, Keith Payne and wife Sher, and, Kendrick Payne and wife Sharla; one sister, Carolyn Bezdek and husband Tom McMillian; as well as, twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.


He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
