Andrew Gray Rodriguez Jr. Obituary

Andrew Gray Rodriguez, Jr., 80, of Calvert, passed away peacefully, in his home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 surrounded by his family.

A Visitation is scheduled from 11AM until service time, Saturday, March 7, in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral home.

Funeral Services will begin at 12PM Saturday, March 7, also at Trevino-Smith.

Born on April 15, 1945 in Magnolia, Texas, he was the son of Andrew C. Rodriguez Sr. and Minnie Benita (Gray) Rodriguez. Andrew was a devoted and hard-working family man who believed in making every little moment count. No matter how busy life became, he always put his loved ones first and cherished the time they spent together.

In his spare time, Andrew found joy in life's simple pleasures from playing baseball with lulac old timers to so much more.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, tending to his animals, and coaching Little League baseball and softball. At family gatherings, he played dominoes and told childhood stories with those around him. He loved listening to a variety of music and dancing - once he stepped onto the dance floor, you could never get him off.

Above all else, Andrew's greatest happiness came from spending time with his family. His love, dedication, and joyful spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Minnie; a brother, Paul Rodriguez; and a son, Manuel G. Rodriguez.

Andrew leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 62 years, Egna (Mary) Rodriguez; three sons, Andrew G. Rodriguez III, Fredrick (Freddie) Rodriguez and wife, Lisa L., and Vincent (Benny)  Rodriguez and wife, Lisa G.; five daughters, Rose Ann Rodriguez, Jo Ann Sepulveda and husband, Chris, and Liza Ann Campbell and husband, Terrence,  Frances Lizcano, and Sarah Rodriguez; three brothers, Natividad Rodriguez, Julio Rodriguez, and Joe Angel Rodriguez; four sisters, Angie Toledo, Mary Lou Alvarado, Theresa Means, and Rita Rodriguez; 32 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members who will miss him dearly.

We would also like to thank Allumine Home health & Hospice Care for the compassionate care of Mr. Rodriguez. Nurse Haley Davilla, Makenzie Lehoski, and Teresa Fielder.
